Dental, Vision, and Hearing Coverage (Individual and Family Plan)

While Individual and Family Plans may offer comprehensive medical and prescription coverage, some plans may lack dental, vision, and hearing coverage. If you need dental, vision, or hearing coverage, consider purchasing a plan through Via Benefits Insurance Services. You can shop on the website or call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) to speak with a Via Benefits licensed benefit advisor* to learn about plans in your area. When you shop for a plan on the website, you can verify the in-network providers. Once you receive your new plan information, you can call the provider and give them your new insurance information.

Unless you hear from the carrier, your plan will automatically renew as long as you continue to pay your premium. If the carrier makes any changes to your coverage, you will be notified through direct correspondence or the Annual Notice of Coverage (ANOC) letter.

To cancel a stand-alone dental, vision, or hearing plan, contact the carrier or call us for guidance. Plans may have different cancellation rules depending on the carrier.

Dental Coverage

Individual and Family Plans may cover dental treatment resulting from accident or illness and must offer limited preventive services for children. However, adult preventive, restorative dental care, and dentures aren't typically covered.

You may enroll in a dental plan year-round, as there is no enrollment period. Certain limitations may apply.

Vision Coverage

Individual and Family Plans typically only cover vision exams for children. There are very few plans that include limited coverage for adults.

Via Benefits offers vision coverage for adults and children. This coverage typically covers eye exams, frames, prescription lenses, and contacts. There may be additional discounts and savings. Plan limitations may apply.

You may enroll in a vision plan year-round, as there is no enrollment period. There may be limitations based on your circumstances.

Hearing Coverage

Individual and Family Plans typically don't offer hearing benefits for adults. However, some plans may offer this as an optional benefit. Hearing screening is a preventive care benefit for children only.

Via Benefits offers hearing coverage that includes hearing exams, hearing aids, and hearing aid repairs. Plan limitations may apply.
