Canceling a Plan
How you cancel (disenroll from) a plan depends on the type of plan, the time of year, and whether or not you want to replace the plan you cancel.
The disenrollment periods listed below may or may not allow you to enroll in another plan. Please contact us at 1-866-322-2824 prior to disenrolling if you would like to enroll in a new plan.
If you disenroll from your plan and then want to return to Via Benefits, you can always contact us to find the right health care coverage for you and your family. You can contact us by calling the phone number provided by your former employer. Upon your return, your eligibility for your Health Reimbursement Account will be based on the rules set forth by your previous employer.
Follow the disenrollment guidelines below for each plan type:
Medicare Advantage Plan
You can disenroll from your Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare using:
The Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP): October 15 through December 7 each year. The change will take effect on January 1 of the following year.
The Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period: January 1 through March 31 each year or within the first three months you get Medicare. The change will take effect the first of the month after the plan gets your request.
A special enrollment period (SEP): There are a variety of life events that could prompt an SEP. The change generally takes effect the first of the month after the plan gets your request.

Prescription Drug Plan
You can disenroll from your Medicare drug plan using:
