Dental, Vision, and Hearing (DVH) Plans

If you're looking for dental, vision, and hearing coverage, consider a DVH plan through Via Benefits Insurance Services. These plans combine all three types of coverage into a single plan. In many cases, the premium is comparable to that of a stand-alone dental plan while also providing vision and hearing benefits. Via Benefits offers a selection of DVH plans from Aetna, Cigna, Humana, and UHOne, depending on availability in your area.

You can shop for and enroll in a plan online or call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) to speak with a Via Benefits licensed benefit advisor* about the plans available in your area. You don’t need an enrollment period to enroll in a DVH plan, and coverage is generally available year-round (certain conditions may apply).

For information about Individual and Family Plans, read Dental, Vision and Hearing Coverage (Individual and Family Plan).

Dental Coverage Options

If you need dental coverage only, consider the following options.

Original Medicare

Medicare Part A generally doesn’t cover routine dental care, including preventive services, restorative care, or dentures. However, Medicare Part A may cover certain dental services when they are required as part of treatment for a covered illness or injury.

Employer Coverage

Dental coverage may be available through your former employer or benefits provider. These plans typically help cover preventive and restorative services, such as exams, fillings, and dentures, up to an annual maximum amount.

Via Benefits

Dental coverage is generally available through Via Benefits if your employer doesn’t offer it. These plans typically cover preventive and restorative services, such as exams, fillings, and dentures, up to an annual maximum amount.

You can shop for and enroll in a plan online or call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) to speak with a benefit advisor about the plans available in your area. You don’t need an enrollment period to enroll in a dental plan, and coverage is generally available year-round (certain conditions may apply).

Vision Coverage Options

If you need vision coverage only, consider the following options.

Original Medicare

Medicare Part B covers the diagnosis and treatment of certain eye diseases and conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. It also covers one pair of eyeglasses or contact lenses following cataract surgery.

Employer Coverage

Vision coverage may be available through your former employer or benefits provider. These plans typically cover an annual exam and provide benefits toward eyeglasses or contact lenses, up to an annual maximum amount.

Via Benefits

Vision coverage is generally available through Via Benefits if your employer doesn’t offer it. You can shop for and enroll in a plan online or call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) to speak with a benefit advisor about plans available in your area. You don’t need an enrollment period to enroll in a vision plan, and coverage is generally available year-round.

Organizations such as AARP and AMAC offer vision benefits or discounts to eligible members.

These plans typically include provider networks, benefit limits, and coverage for services, such as eye exams, eyeglasses, and contact lenses. However, they generally don't cover medical eye conditions that are covered under Original Medicare.

Hearing Coverage Options

If you only need hearing coverage, consider the following options.

Original Medicare

Medicare Part B covers diagnostic hearing exams to determine if medical treatment is needed. It doesn't cover routine hearing exams, hearing aids, or hearing aid fittings.

Discounts

Organizations such as AARP offer hearing-related discounts to their members.
