Express Reimbursement Overview
This article applies to you if you have a Via Benefits reimbursement account, sometimes called a Health Reimbursement Arrangement.*
Express Reimbursement makes submitting premium expenses faster and easier. We use the premium information already on file to create your reimbursement request, so all you need to do is review and submit it. We handle the rest.
For instructions on canceling Express Reimbursement, see Canceling Your Recurring Premium Reimbursement. For instructions on updating your premium, see Updating Your Premium for Recurring Reimbursements.
Availability
Express Reimbursement isn’t available if you receive an Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) through your employer.
It’s available only when Automatic Premium Reimbursement isn’t offered for your plan.
Limitations
Express Reimbursement isn't available for out‑of‑pocket expenses.
It is also not available for Individual or Family Plan members living in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Vermont.
How it Works
You receive reimbursements monthly.
Most Express Reimbursement requests don’t require supporting documentation, which helps prevent delays caused by incorrect paperwork.
Your request is reviewed only when supporting documentation is required, which typically results in faster reimbursement processing.
When Documentation Is Required
Documentation is only needed if you change the policy period or increase the reimbursement amount beyond what we already have on file.
Read Submitting a Reimbursement Request for other ways to submit a reimbursement request.
*Via Benefits reimbursement accounts are administered by Extend Health, LLC.
